     Three Day Bladder Diary  

What is a bladder Diary?

 

A bladder diary can give important information about how the bladder works.

 

It can show how often you go to the toilet, how often you wet yourself, and how much fluid you drink.

 How do I keep a Bladder Diary? 

For three full days beginning with the first wee of the first morning, ending with the first wee of the forth morning.  To check how YOUR bladder is working, I would like you to record the following:

 1.            The time of day each time during the day that you empty your bladder (called voiding).2.            The  amount of urine passed (measured in mls)3.            The time of day or night each time you leak urine.  Also describe how the leak happened e.g. cough, sneeze, with urge, on way to toilet or if your underwear is damp but you’re not sure how.4.            Whether this leakage is a few drops or more than just drops.5.            What and when you drink and how much is in each drink in mls.  

Here is an example of how a bladder diary might look after it has been filled out:
